The technique involves inserting a prosthesis that can be placed under the gland (sub glandular) or under the subpectoral technique. In each case, the characteristics of the chest and the breast will be evaluated in order to choose the appropriate procedure. The operation is always performed under general anesthesia, it lasts approximately two hours and the patient is asked to stay in the hospital for twenty-four hours.
Postoperative
The patient should carry out a relative rest of between 4-10 days and should take anti-inflammatory and analgesic medication. The placement of breast implants does not limit the capacity of breastfeeding in case the patient becomes pregnant and does not interfere neither in the detection of breast cancers nor in mammographies.
