This surgery is usually indicated for rheumatoid arthritis patients who develop a C1-C2 instability causing pain. Screws are placed which immobilize the C1-C2 facets (joints) and stabilise the vertebrae.
Performed under general anaesthetic.
Patients are discharged on day 2, post surgery. Follow up consultation(s) with surgeon required
