Back pain caused by degenerative disc disease (DDD) can be treated by minimally invasive spinal fusion surgery. Lumbar spinal fusion surgery involves fusing together 2 or more vertebrae solidly. This is achieved by the placing of intervertebral cages filled with bone graft and the use of percutaneous screws and rods.
