Dynamic stabilization involves the placing of flexible materials to the affected level(s) in order to stabilize the region. Placed percutaneously, excessive motion is restricted and mobility although possible, is limited. Once stabilized, the load on the spine\'s joints and disc space is reduced, which in turn can reduce pain. The procedure allows for fusion systems to be incorporated into the same surgery if necessary.
