The procedure involves inserting a catheter which is attached to a fibre optic epiduroscope into the sacrum (tailbone). As the epiduroscope is advanced into the lower lumbar epidural space, epidural scarring and inflammation will become visible and the surgeon will place enzymes to release nerve roots trapped by the scarring.
